Dedicated to Protecting Our Clients’ Rights
J.M. Evans Law is dedicated to tipping the scales of justice in your favor. Our firm provides big city quality with an understanding of local practices and needs. We are well-versed in all legal options, provide an honest evaluation, practical recommendations, and fight to protect our clients’ rights. At each consult, Ms. Evans personally listens to your situation, facts, needs, and goals to formulate a case plan.
She identifies the strengths and weaknesses of each case, as well as the evidence that could make the case better and maximize the weaknesses of the other side. Consults can also be used to review legal documents and get advice about a particular issue.
Whether or not you can or are able to retain Evans Law, we’ll provide you with the information you need to pursue the case on your own, with us, or through a referral to a specialized attorney on the types of cases that we do not serve.
How Litigation Works &
Your Legal Options
Most litigation goes through a similar process: preparation of a complaint or answer to another party’s complaint, service and response by the other party, initial hearing on immediate temporary issues that need decided during the proceedings, discovery (asking the other party for the details of their claims and evidence), any motions or requests by either party, final pretrial, final hearing (bench or jury trial), and issuance of the decision and Order of the Magistrate and/or judge. Appealing a final decision can be done for proper grounds through a separate legal process at the appeals court.
Serving Your Best Interests
One Case at a Time
J.M. Evans Law will update you whenever we get new information or hear anything about your case. Often court dockets are very heavy, so there will be times when you won’t hear anything from us as there is no activity on your case. Customers preserve their retainer and maximize their legal services by documenting and contacting us with any new bulk of information or evidence a week or two before any upcoming hearing or proceeding.
However, clients should call our office IMMEDIATELY with updates regarding health or safety concerns, as well as threats that require immediate legal action to prevent imminent or irreversible harm. There are a lot more legal bells and whistles that can be used, but that can get expensive. We will do what is legally necessary, and then provide you with the information to pursue additional legal methods or processes that would make your case better. We tell you how much impact each option could make, inform you of the associated price and then let you decide.
